Sunday Divisional Round Preview

In today’s first matchup we have Cleveland Browns vs Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5) O/U 56.5. We have the Browns one of the best running teams going up against KC who has one of the leagues worst run defenses. On the flip side we have Mahomes and company going against a depleted Browns defense.

This game brings up the classic rest vs rust debate. Patrick Mahomes hasn’t played since week 16 that’s 3 full weeks since his last action. So we have a well rested KC team that has won their last 7 games by just a single score. This game has a lot of exploitable matchups and I see KC taking advantage more than Cleveland. I can see KC coming out firing and putting Cleveland away early on. In this game I like KC winning and I like 1H (-5.5) and Under 56.5. That’s a lot of points and I don’t see Cleveland playing well from behind.

In the late game we have the two of the best going head to head Brady vs Brees. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New Orleans Saints (-2.5) O/U 52.5. These teams met twice during the regular season and NO win both convincingly. People say it’s tough to beat a team twice in the same season well what about 3 times? There have been 17 such times when divisional opponents meet in the playoffs for a 3rd time when one team won both matchups. The 2-0 team has won 13 of the 17 games. So that would favor the Saints, do they just matchup good against TB?

Over the years I’ve learned not to bet against TB12 in the playoffs, this team isn’t being led by Bill Bilicheck. I think Sean Payton has a big advantage over Bruce Arians in this game. But I just can’t see Brees and company beating Brady 3 times. I like the Bucs +2.5 and the lean with the under. My prediction 27-24 TB.
